1. Policy Availability & Scope

This document is an official, publicly accessible, non-editable HTML privacy policy. Both the Google Play Console store listing, Apple App Store Connect product page, and the in-app settings link directly to this URL.

This policy applies strictly to the Voice Zoo mobile application. If MadCodeLab develops or publishes other applications, each application maintains an independent policy corresponding to its specific functionality.

2. Child-Directed Commitment (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Voice Zoo is designed as an educational, interactive animal discovery experience suitable for young children, preschoolers, and families. We strictly abide by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR Article 8 for children), Google Play Families Policy, and Apple App Store Review Guidelines (Section 1.3 & 5.1.4 Kids Category).

3. Device Permissions & On-Device Processing

🎙️ Microphone & Audio Processing (Strictly On-Device)

Voice Zoo provides an interactive voice feature where children can imitate animal sounds and practice pronunciation. To support this:

  • The app requests runtime microphone permission (RECORD_AUDIO on Android and NSMicrophoneUsageDescription on iOS).
  • Audio data is processed entirely locally on the user’s device.
  • Audio recordings are NEVER uploaded, streamed, or saved to external servers, cloud services, or third-party platforms.
  • We do NOT use voice recordings for biometric identification, voice recognition modeling, or advertising targeting.
  • Recordings are discarded immediately after play or stored only in private temporary local device storage that the parent can clear at any time.

Local Storage (Artworks & Progress)

The app includes an animal coloring book and educational quizzes. Children's colored artworks, earned star badges, and sound settings (BGM/SFX toggles, English/Vietnamese language choices) are saved strictly inside the device’s local sandbox (via SharedPreferences / local filesystem). This data remains on the device and is never synchronized to external servers. Clearing application data or uninstalling the app permanently deletes this local content.

Push Notifications

The app declares notification permissions (POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13+) solely for optional, friendly local educational reminders. We do not transmit advertising campaigns or spam via push notifications. Parents may disable notifications anytime via the operating system settings.

4. Advertising Practices (Google AdMob & Appodeal Mediation)

Where advertising is enabled to support application maintenance, Voice Zoo integrates official monetization SDKs from Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Appodeal (Appodeal Stack Mediation). MadCodeLab strictly enforces child-directed and family-safe standards across all monetization channels:

For detailed disclosures on how our monetization partners collect and process data, please review:

5. Parental Gate (Apple Guideline 1.3 & Google Families)

To ensure that young children remain safely inside the educational environment, Voice Zoo incorporates a robust Parental Gate. Any action that navigates outside the core gameplay—including accessing developer settings, support links, or external store review pages—requires solving an adult-directed mathematical verification prompt. This prevents accidental navigation or unintended interaction with external websites.

6. Google Play Data Safety Alignment

The following table provides transparent disclosures corresponding to the Google Play Data safety declaration:

Data Category Data Type Collection & Usage Status
Personal Info Name, Email, Phone, Address, Account ID Not Collected. The app does not collect or request any personal user information.
Audio / Voice Microphone sound & voice recordings Not Collected. Processed strictly on-device for the interactive animal sound feature. Never sent to any server.
Photos & Videos Photos, images, videos Not Collected. Coloring book drawings are stored strictly within local device memory.
Location Coarse location (derived from IP address) Regional Contextual Ads & Security Only. The app does not request precise GPS location. Coarse location (country/region level derived from IP address) may be processed transiently by advertising partners (Google AdMob, Appodeal) solely for regional delivery and fraud prevention.
Device & Other IDs IP address, Device IDs, Advertising IDs (GAID / IDFA) Technical Ad Mediation Only. Processed ephemerally by Google AdMob, Appodeal, and authorized mediation networks for fraud prevention, diagnostic stability, and frequency capping under child-directed and family policies.
App Info & Diagnostics Crash logs, error diagnostics Diagnostics. Basic anonymous technical stability telemetry may be processed to monitor crash rates and ensure runtime stability.

7. Third-Party Services

The app may communicate with trusted third-party SDKs strictly for operational functionality:

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Because MadCodeLab does not host child user accounts or maintain remote databases containing personal user information, we hold no user data to delete from our servers. All gameplay achievements, artwork, and settings are retained solely on the local device. Parents can permanently erase all stored data at any time by:

  1. Clearing the app storage/cache in Android Settings (Settings → Apps → Voice Zoo → Storage → Clear Data).
  2. Deleting and reinstalling the app on iOS or Android.

9. Parental Rights & Direct Contact

Parents and legal guardians have the right to review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's information. If you have any inquiries, suggestions, or concerns regarding our privacy practices, please contact our dedicated privacy officer directly:
